Grace partners with the following organizations in mission both local and global.

Local...

Grace Place meets each Friday from 10a.m. 'til 2 p.m. for older adults who enjoy getting together for fellowship, relevant informative presentations, cards, table-top games, puzzles, crafts, singing, etc.  A delicious lunch is served, followed by an interesting afternoon program. No charge. Volunteer contribution for lunch.

Laurel House is an emergency shelter for battered women and their children. We support Laurel House through gifts of food, clothing, and monetary donations. A “wish list” of ongoing needs is available. Although training in domestic violence support is necessary for most volunteers, we are hoping to expand our hands-on involvement with Laurel House in the coming year.

Cradle for the Christ Child: Each year the congregation at Grace supplies Christmas gifts to nearly 200 needy children and teens in the Jenkintown, Abington and Cheltenham area.

CROP Walk and Hunger Mitigation: The mission team has undertaken a project of hunger mitigation by collecting non-perishable food for three area food cupboards.  A member of Grace has chaired/organized the local CROP Walk for hunger for the past 2 years.  Grace members also provide holiday boxed turkey meals for those in need at Thanksgiving and Christmas.  CROP: http://www.churchworldservice.org/site/PageServer?pagename=crop_main

Cornerstone Christian Academy: Grace provides financial assistance to this Christian school for grades 1-8 located in the inner-city of Philadelphia.  Grace hopes to foster a relationship between the students of Cornerstone and the students at Grace.  Cornerstone Christian Academy: http://www.cornerstonephiladelphia.com/Home.asp

The Breathing Room Foundation is a local cancer support organization that may be familiar to many of you.  The Breathing Room Foundation was started by a local Jenkintown family, in honor of their loved one and in response to their own experience with cancer. It has the following Mission Statement:

“Our mission is to reach out to every family within a twenty-mile radius who has a member suffering from cancer. We recognize that a cancer diagnosis affects every aspect of a family’s life; emotional, physical, spiritual, and financial. We strive to provide a family with whatever it is that will allow them a bit of “breathing room” from their daily struggle against cancer. It is our hope that this will allow them to concentrate all of their efforts toward regaining their physical health.”

You can see more at  their web site at: www.thebreathingroomfoundation.org

Inter-Faith Housing Alliance: Now in its 25th year, Inter-Faith’s mission is “to serve God by providing charitable services to persons located in Montgomery County whose life situations have become unstable…”  Inter-Faith operates a Hotline to assist families in preventing homelessness by helping with rental payments, and preventing utility shut off.  It also operates a Hospitality Network for emergency shelter of families and Hope Gardens Apartments in Ambler where families in need of additional assistance may stay for up to 2 years, paying a rent based on their income.  Supportive services, including budget counseling, individual therapy and children’s programs round out the overall care provided to families.  Inter-Faith Housing Alliance: http://www.i-fha.org/

Inter-Faith Food Pantry: One of the two food pantries supported by your donations is operated by Inter-Faith Housing Alliance in Abington. Located at Trinity Lutheran Church in Abington the food pantry is open Monday- Friday 9:30-3:00.
